The New Orleans Jazz Club will hold its 78th anniversary event with a free “family-friendly” concert, featuring three outstanding New Orleans Jazz Bands on April 29 at Felix’s Restaurant on the Lakefront from 1-5 p.m.
The event starts at 1 p.m. with the Hamish Moudgil New Orleans Jazz Club All-Stars.
They will be followed by the headlining act of the Assunto Dukes Tribute, featuring the music of the Original Dukes of Dixieland.
The afternoon will conclude with the New Orleans Jazz Club jam session.
According to Club President Deano Assunto, “Our annual anniversary party is always the highlight of our year, and the crowds are always warm and very receptive. If you are attending Jazz Fest this year, please feel very welcome Wednesday at Felix’s.”
Residents, visitors, members and non-members of all ages are invited to enjoy this wonderful afternoon of real New Orleans Jazz music. The New Orleans Jazz Club is the oldest jazz club in America, and a 501(c)(3) organization, and perform free monthly jam sessions at Mo’s Chalet in Metairie on the last Sunday of every month.
