The New Orleans City Council Public Works Commission has approved a plan to extend the sanitation services contract in the French Quarter.
IV Waste’s contract would be extended for another 18 months, allowing the company to continue picking up trash in the area through Dec. 2027.
“IV Waste has provided exceptional service in the French Quarter and CBD,” said Matt Tori, Director of the Department of Sanitation. “Residents and businesses alike look forward to continuing receipt of great sanitation services.”
The city proposed the contract extension for sanitation services on Monday.
The contract will need the approval of the full City Council.
