Entergy New Orleans says power has been restored to customers in the French Quarter.
It was reported that at peak, more than 2,800 customers were without power for more than one hour.
Entergy says the cause of the outage was a Mylar streamer, impacting a power grid.
Several restaurants and hotels reported temporarily losing electricity.
Some businesses posted signs saying they were closing early.
Zhang Bistro and One More Pie say the outage happening during dinner time hurt their sales for the day.
