Jefferson Parish leaders honored Cynthia Thompson at a council meeting Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
She is affectionately known as “Mama T” and recently marked 50 years in the classroom. Forty-eight of those were at Bonnabel High School. The school has been celebrating her all year with surprises. Council leaders discussed her years of service. Mama T said it’s an honor to mold young minds and she is grateful for the recognition.
Another sign she has a passion for teaching: She has had perfect attendance for the last 15 years.
