A New Orleans student is planning to complete an inspiring goal this weekend during the annual Crescent City Classic.
Parker Curry, who was born prematurely and later diagnosed with cerebral palsy, is set to compete in the Crescent City Classic 10K race on Saturday, defying expectations and inspiring others.
Cerebral palsy is a brain development disorder that directly impacts muscle function. For those who live with CP, simple tasks like tying shoes can take a long time to accomplish. Sixteen years later, Parker is beating those odds one step at a time.
“The reason why I want to do the CCC is I kind of want to prove to the world that even though I am different, I can still do hard things,” Parker said.
Just a few years ago, Parker was relearning how to walk. Now, he trains weekly for the upcoming 10K race.
Parker’s motivation comes from his biggest cheerleaders, mom and dad.
