A New Orleans man who claimed to be a video game programmer is facing additional charges in connection with a child sex abuse image investigation, according to the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office.
Jamie Borne was arrested by Homeland Security Investigations and the Louisiana State Police in New Orleans two weeks ago, according to the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office.
According to the Louisiana Attorney General’s office, Borne claimed to be a Roblox programmer, but Roblox issued a statement saying he has never been an employee.
He was facing 40 counts of pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13, and one count of possessing, trafficking, or importing a child sex doll, which investigators say was dressed in a onesie.
On March 31, he was rebooked on new charges, including 195 counts of child sexual abuse material under the age of 13, and two counts of sexual abuse of an animal.
Borne had his first appearance on these new charges Thursday morning with Magistrate Judge Juana M. Lombard at Orleans Criminal District Court.
His total bond was set at $345,500.
Roblox issued the following statement regarding Borne’s charges:
“The individual is not, and has never been, a Roblox employee. Roblox’s platform allows people unaffiliated with the company to build experiences that are governed by our robust community standards. We currently have more than 2 million creators using our technology to build. We have deactivated his experiences and banned his accounts in accordance with our off platform behavior policy in our community standards.”
