Ahead of the big Good Friday seafood rush, the Crawfish App has released prices for Easter weekend.
There was a slight dip in crawfish prices last week, but according to The Crawfish App, prices are holding steady.
People can expecte to pay an average of $3.96 per pound for live crawfish, and $6.10 for boiled crawfish.
“We’re in the heart of crawfish season and Easter is the Super Bowl Sunday event for the industry,” said Laney King, Co-Founder of The Crawfish App. “The crawfish are large and beautiful, and vendors are prepping for their busiest weekend of the year. Get those sacks reserved now if you haven’t already,” she warns.
At current pricing, a standard 35-pound sack of live crawfish will cost approximately $125, consistent with pricing at this time last year.
However, King said that historically, Easter prices tend to be lower.
“In a typical season, Easter pricing is closer to $2.50 to $2.75 per pound, or under $100 per sack,” King said. “With prices higher this year, it’s especially important for consumers to compare options—particularly when purchasing multiple sacks.”
