The St. Charles Parish America 250 Committee invites residents to an evening of music, history, and patriotic celebration for the 250th anniversary of the United States. The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra will perform at the Dr. Rodney R. Lafon Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026.
Dow, IMTT, Shell and Valero are the event’s title sponsors. The Louisiana’s River Parishes Tourist Commission and the America 250 Louisiana Commission also support the program.
“This concert is a special opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States,” Parish President Matthew Jewell said. “For 250 years, America has stood as a beacon of liberty, opportunity and self-government. Through music and reflection, we will honor the generations who built this nation and celebrate the spirit that continues to unite Americans today.”
Special guests include Mark Romig, Kalena Bovell and Claire Shackleton.
The family-friendly concert will feature patriotic music, American classics and historical readings. Organizers say the program will honor the nation’s past, recognize the present and inspire hope for the future.
Tickets cost $25 and are available online. This will be the only performance, so families are encouraged to buy tickets early.
