Here’s what’s happening this weekend in New Orleans:
113th Louisiana Derby Day | March 21 @ noon | Fairgrounds Race Course
The running of the 113th Louisiana Derby will take place Saturday at the Fair Grounds.
The race will air in its entirety on WDSU in the 6 p.m. newscast.
The Louisiana Derby is slated as Race 12 on a 14-race card, and the first post is at noon.
Louisiana Derby Day highlights the final weekend of the Fair Grounds meet, which concludes Sunday.
Stella Shouting Contest | March 21 @ 2 p.m. | New Orleans Jazz Museum
The sounds of “Stella!” will be reverberating from a new location this year as the Tennessee Williams Literary Festival celebrates 40 years with a new offering.
On Saturday, March 21, organizers are hosting Williams Under the Oaks featuring scenes from Williams’ plays, along with new original pieces inspired by the literary genius.
This festival kickoff begins at 2 p.m. on the grounds of the New Orleans Jazz Museum and culminates with the ever-popular Stella Shouting Contest at 3 p.m.

The Big Easy Fair | March 21-22 @ 3 p.m. | New Orleans East
The Big Easy Fair in New Orleans East wraps up this weekend with rides, games and fair foods.
The fair is produced by Kissel Entertainment with many rides, from kiddie to spectacular.
The fair opens at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and ride tickets are $2 per ticket or 20 tickets for $40.
