For the second year in a row, Southern University has been recognized as the best nursing school in the United States according to Nurses.org.
“Being named Best Nursing School in the U.S. for two consecutive years is a tremendous honor, and it affirms the excellence our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and clinical partners bring to this work every day,” said Dr. Sandra Brown, dean of the College of Nursing and Allied Health.
SUSON was named a finalist for Best Nursing School along with Capella University, Chamberlain University School of Nursing, Emory University Nell Hodgson-Woodruff School of Nursing, and the Lunder CareForce Institute.
Brown said the recognition reflects the continued commitment of the university’s nursing program to academic excellence and workforce preparation.
“This recognition speaks to the strength of our academic programs, our commitment to workforce preparation, and the impact our graduates make in communities across Louisiana and beyond. We are grateful for this recognition and remain focused on advancing nursing education, expanding opportunity, and continuing to set the standard for student success and patient-centered care,” said Brown.
The recognition comes as the School of Nursing celebrates 40 years as an academic program on Southern’s campus.
