Today is a WDSU First Warning Weather Alert Day due to Wind Advisory, Gale Warning, Red Flag Warning, and Freeze Watch.
After overnight/early morning storms rolled through, a blast of strong winds and cold air is moving in!
The Wind Advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. for the Southshore. Wind gusts could get up to 40 mph.
It’s not a great day to be on the water as there is a Gale Warning in effect until 7 p.m. Gusts up to 40 knots are possible.
The Red Flag Warning is in effect for portions of the Northshore, River Parishes, and Bayou Parishes from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Burning is not advised today.
Temperatures will likely dip throughout the morning before rising only to the mid 50s.
Temperatures will feel colder than what they actually are because of the winds.
For tonight, a Freeze Watch is in effect for the Northshore. Temperatures could dip to the mid to upper 20s.
Tuesday afternoon’s highs only reach the 50s as well.
By Thursday, highs are back in the 70s.
