Deputies found the victim with a gunshot wound and sitting behind the wheel of a vehicle near Williamsburg Drive and Bedford Drive.
The victim, Jackie Dempsey of Baton Rouge, was pronounced dead on the scene.
According to the St. John the Baptist Sheriff’s Office, the evidence collected shows that this was a targeted attack.
