The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly crash in Lafitte.
The crash happened on Sunday around 10:45 p.m. in the 3700 block of Jean Lafitte Boulevard.
According to JPSO, when deputies arrived, they found a man who had been struck by a car on the ground in the westbound lane.
Deputies also found a Toyota pickup truck facing east in the westbound lane and the driver, a man, who remained on scene.
The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital and died of his injuries on Tuesday.
According to JPSO, the driver was traveling eastbound when he struck the man who was in the road.
Deputies say the driver tried to evade striking the man in the road, and also voluntarily submitted to toxicology testing.
Those results are still pending, according to JPSO.
No information was provided on whether the driver would face any charges.
