An employee with the St. Charles Parish School System has been arrested and accused of indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Emma Prejean, a band director at Harry Hurst Middle School, is facing charges in connection with inappropriate communications with a minor.
According to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, in February, deputies began investigating inappropriate communications between a minor and a 29-year-old woman.
The family of the victim provided the sheriff with documentation of the messages, according to the sheriff.
Prejean was identified as the suspect in the case.
According to the sheriff’s office, digital evidence connected Prejean to allegations of child sexual abuse.
The sheriff said Prejean was questioned on Feb. 24 and admitted to the allegations.
She was arrested and is facing charges of indecent behavior with a juvenile and computer-aided solicitation of a minor.
Prejean was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex, where she is being held without bond.
