The Downtown Development District has reported that this Carnival season was the most-visited since 2020.
It was recorded that 2.2 million people visited the city during the two-week carnival stretch, from the Friday of the Cleopatra parade through Mardi Gras Day.
The riverfront also welcomed around 7,000 attendees on Lundi Gras, offering live music, local food, and a family-friendly atmosphere.
“These visitation numbers show that Downtown remains the economic engine of our city during Carnival,” said DDD President & CEO Seth Knudsen. “A 10% year-over-year increase reflects meaningful momentum for our restaurants, hotels, retailers, and cultural attractions. We remain focused on delivering a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that allows businesses to thrive.”
