Today starts mostly cloudy with some clearing expected by late afternoon. Highs today reach 72-76 degrees. We should stay mostly dry today.
For this evening’s parades, expect low 70s at the start and the low 60s by the end of the night.
Hanging out after midnight, expect temperatures in the upper 50s.
Overnight lows fall to the 50s for everyone.
For Saturday:
- There is a chance for a few afternoon showers due to the warm air being pumped into the area. Not guaranteed, but a decent possibility
- Highs in the mid 70s
For Late Saturday into Sunday Morning:
- Line of storms is on the other side of Baton Rouge by midnight Sat/Sun
- Reaches River Parishes and Northshore after 2 a.m.
- Reaches New Orleans after 4 a.m.
- Strongest line moves out before noon.
- HOWEVER: there is the chance for some additional rain after the main line moves in, meaning there could be some rain for Sunday afternoon which could impact parades
IMPACTS:
- Wind gusts 35+ mph for Saturday night into Sunday—throughout the day
- Damaging winds main impact
- Low threat for tornadoes and flooding
For Lundi Gras and Mardi Gras expect dry weather with highs in the 70s. We could even be in the upper 70s to low 80s by the middle and end of next week.
