One person has been arrested after a human trafficking investigation with multiple agencies, including Kenner police, St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office and Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.
On Nov. 6, the Kenner Police Department’s SWAT team conducted an operation in the 1200 block of Moisant Street in Kenner while other agencies were simultaneously conducting takedowns in other areas.
Kenner SWAT’s mission was to safely secure the residence, apprehend any person of interest and secure any potential victims.
The operation resulted in the arrest of one suspect, and three victims were brought to safety.
Attorney General Liz Murrill issued the following statement on the operations:
“The Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, in collaboration with our local, state, and federal partners, will continue to aggressively pursue those who seek to harm the innocent. I will ensure that justice is served on behalf of the victims exploited by anyone engaged in a human trafficking network.”
Chief Keith Conley also issued a statement on the operations:
“Our partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies are essential in confronting complex criminal networks. These collaborations allow us to protect victims, safeguard our community, and ensure that those responsible are held accountable. I commend all of the agencies involved for their professionalism and commitment.”
