Tickets are on sale now for a frightening fundraiser in the French Quarter.
The Witches and Warlocks Mini Soiree is happening Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the New Orleans Storyville Museum on Conti Street.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.
Proceeds from the event will support the Vieux Carre Commission Foundation and its mission to educate, engage and preserve the historic character of the French Quarter.
“We are this crown jewel of the tourist industry,” said Jessica Schulman, executive director of the VCC Foundation. “(Our economy is) based around this area. We have conventions coming in. We have events coming in. We have to protect the very core, which is the French Quarter.”
Organizers say the event will feature a costume contest, cocktails, food, music and more.
Costumes are encouraged but not required.
WDSU previously featured the Storyville Museum, which tells sordid stories from New Orleans’ past. Owner Claus Sadlier told WDSU that attendees can tour the museum’s exhibits while enjoying the Halloween-themed event.
“This museum takes you on a tour of what made New Orleans become known for what it is today, a party city, a city of vice,” said Sadlier.
