A Lafayette man has been accused by federal prosecutors of taking part in the October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel, according to a complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Lafayette.
According to the affidavit, Mahmoud Amin Ya’Quba Al-Muhtadi allegedly provided, attempted to provide, or conspired to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization.
He is also being accused of fraud and misuse of visas, permits, and other documents.
The criminal complaint states that around 60 people were killed and 19 kidnapped, with multiple American citizens among the alleged victims.
