NOLA Zydeco Fest is celebrating five years with a special kickoff event at Palmettos on the Bayou in Slidell.
The festival’s milestone season will begin with a Zydeco Sunday Funday featuring live music by Geno Delafose and French Rockin’ Boogie, along with a dance experience led by MoeJoe the Instructor.
Guests are invited to enjoy an evening of music, movement and community while supporting the New Orleans Zydeco Foundation. A $30 donation covers admission, a cocktail and a bowl of jambalaya. Proceeds benefit the foundation’s mission to preserve and promote Louisiana Creole culture through music, education and community events.
The event takes place at Palmettos on the Bayou, located at 1901 Bayou Lane in Slidell. Doors open at 4 p.m., with the band starting at 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 21.
Tickets and donations are available at welcometothebayou.eventbrite.com.
