A plant in Roseland, Louisiana, experienced an explosion and fire Friday afternoon.

Smitty’s Suppy in Roseland reported the explosion around 3 p.m.
Mandatory evacuations are underway, and there are no injuries.
A cause for the explosion has not been determined at this time.
Smitty’s was established in 1960.
It is one of the largest privately owned oil manufacturing companies in the United States.
The company manufactures and distributes auto lubricants and motor oil. It employs more than 450 people.
According to OSHA reports, two prior incidents have been reported at the plant. One of those incidents was fatal.
The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality is investigating the explosion and monitoring air quality near the site.
