Three FBI agents injured in an on-duty crash Thursday night have been released from the hospital.
According to the FBI New Orleans office, three FBI agents were on duty when their car was struck near the intersection of AP Tureaud and Aubry streets around 9 p.m.
Louisiana State Police said the incident started when the driver of the suspect’s vehicle tried to drive away, striking two FBI cars before colliding with a trailer.
State police say the driver and those inside the suspect’s car were taken into custody. None of the people inside the suspect’s car were injured, according to state police.
Two people in the car, Donald Bryant and Cinque Williams, were arrested by the NOPD.
Police say Bryant is facing multiple charges including illegal possession of stolen firearms, possession of illegal drugs, reckless operation of a vehicle, hit and run driving, and resisting arrest. He was also wanted out of Orleans Parish.
Williams is facing charges of illegal possession of stolen firearms, possession of illegal drugs, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and resisting arrest. He was also wanted by Jefferson Parish.
The agents were taken to the hospital for minor injuries and have since been released.
The investigation the agents were assigned to is ongoing, and the FBI did not provide further details.
The Louisiana State Police is investigating the crash.
