One of New Orleans’ biggest summer events will take over the French Quarter this weekend.
The New Orleans Red Dress Run is held annually on the second weekend of August. This year’s run is on Saturday.
The gates at Armstrong Park will open at 9 a.m. and the race will start at 10 a.m.
Proceeds from the event benefit different charities.
Here’s what you need to know ahead of the Red Dress Run:
Registration:
Admission for the event is $89. Pre-registration is available online. Day-of registration is cash only.

Event start:
The Red Dress Run starts at Armstrong Park and will continue through the neighborhood. Runners will line up on N. Peters for the start of the run.
Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. and there will be live music.
Festivities will last the remainder of the day at local bars and restaurants.
