The New Orleans Saints named Spencer Rattler as its starting quarterback for the first preseason game.
Head coach Kellen Moore announced the news Friday after practice.
Rattler is in his second season with the Saints.
In the 2024 season, Rattler played in seven games, throwing for 1,317 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions.
Rattler is 0-6 as the starting quarterback.
Rookie quarterback Tyler Shough will play behind Rattler, with the second team.
The Saints face the Chargers Sunday at 3 p.m. in Los Angeles.
