The family of Anton Ross is searching for answers after the 17-year-old from Georgia mysteriously disappeared on June 30, nearly two weeks ago.
“He was with some friends, and he just didn’t come back. We’re devastated, you know we’re looking for answers,” said Anthony Ross.
His father said Anton visited a friend on Salem Street before he got into an unidentified gray vehicle and left the area.
“We have had a lot of sleepless nights,” Ross said.
Ross said it is unusual to not hear from his son.
“Me and my son have a good relationship, he communicates with family very often. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, gray shorts, black socks and white Air Force ones,” Ross said.
Kenner police say they are tracking down each lead.
“After exhausting all leads, we’re still right where we started. We have no solid information,” said Kenner police Chief Keith Conley.
Conley said that while investigating, new details emerged about what may have led to the sudden disappearance.
“We know he was going to meet up with somebody for the purpose of a narcotics transaction. It indicates that this could have been a drug deal that has gone wrong, that’s where the investigation led us and the information we’ve received,” said Conley.
Family members are holding on to the hope that Anton will return home safely and soon.
“Honestly, I’d want to say if my son is present, he would have contacted me by now, but I don’t know his situation, and I’m not going to count him out,” said Ross.
