The National Hurricane Center confirms Tropical Depression #3 formed Friday afternoon off the southeast coast.
WHAT WE KNOW:
- The storm is forecast to become Tropical Storm Chantal by Saturday afternoon
- It’s also forecast to make landfall in South Carolina late Saturday night
- Quite a bit of rain is forecast for the east coast of North Carolina over the next 7 days
