The St. Tammany Parish Republican Executive Committee has passed a resolution to support a partnership with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, citing other partnerships with ICE like in Kenner and Bossier Parish.
The committee stated that a partnership would allow law enforcement to participate in federally funded training and showed full support for it.
This decision comes after the St. Tammany Parish Council tabled a similar resolution last month due to major opposition.
