Two Iranian-born LSU students were arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to Louisiana State University.
LSU spokesperson Todd Woodward confirmed the two students were detained by ICE at their off-campus apartment.
One of the students has been identified as Pouria Pourhosseinhendabad, according to the ICE online detainee database.
The legal status of both students in the country is unclear.
The arrests come as President Donald Trump cracks down on people in the country illegally, as well as multiple arrests being made of Iranian nationals since the beginning of the Israel-Iran conflict.
WDSU reached out to ICE for more information on the arrests but at the time of this publication had not received a response.
