Three people have been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting of a grandmother over the weekend.
According to Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, around 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, a shooting was reported at a home in the 14000 block of Pine Road in Tickfaw.
Deputies arrived at the home and found Annette Jackson, 65, with a gunshot wound to the neck. She was transferred to a local hospital, where she later died.
Detectives learned that Jaiden Dillon, 19, who lived with his grandmother, shot her through the closed, locked front door as she was returning home from the grocery store.
Dillon then fled the scene without alerting anyone about the shooting or trying to get Jackson medical help.
An arrest warrant was issued, and Dillon turned himself in Sunday afternoon.
Deputies said Nijah Dillon, 25, who is Dillon’s sister, and her boyfriend, Benjamin White, 30, were arrested for helping Dillon evade arrest.
Jaiden is being charged with one count of 2nd degree murder, failure to report felony and obstruction of justice.
Nijah and White are being charged with one count of accessory after the fact.
This is an ongoing investigation.
