The New Orleans Police Department has made an arrest in a deadly stabbing near Lake Catherine.
The stabbing happened in the 21000 block of Chef Menteur Highway Wednesday night around 5:30 p.m.
According to the NOPD, Nicholas Ortega has been arrested and is facing a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the stabbing.
Police said around 4:40 p.m. a driver reported a fight between two men. One of the men was stabbed and the other man drove away in a silver SUV, according to the NOPD.
The car, driven by Ortega, was spotted on Interstate 610 and pulled over at the intersection of Fig and Dante streets.
Oretga was then taken into custody. He has been booked into the Orleans Parish jail.
The victim of the stabbing has not been identified at this time.
