The New Orleans Mac & Cheese Festival is bringing a unique twist to food festivals with a citywide Mac & Cheese food crawl, hosted by Lokel Group. Set to take place from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, this event invites cheese lovers and foodies to stroll through New Orleans and sample macaroni and cheese dishes from a variety of local favorites.
This family-friendly festival works like a bar crawl — but instead of drinks, participants get to enjoy samples of diverse mac & cheese creations. Tickets include a sample from every participating restaurant, allowing guests to explore the city at their own pace while savoring everything from classic cheddar to smoked gouda and crawfish mac & cheese.
Participating locations include The Double Club with its popular “Crack n Cheese,” Hammered Harry’s classic creamy cheddar mac, Hideout’s buffalo mac & cheese, and many more. The list will be updated as more vendors join, promising a wide range of cheesy options.
To join, participants must purchase tickets for their preferred check-in location, where they will receive a punch card necessary for sampling. Check-in ends promptly at 3 p.m. to ensure ample time to visit all stops. Volunteers at each venue will mark punch cards and assist with any questions.
Attendees are encouraged to enjoy their mac & cheese while walking around the city and to be patient with possible wait times or lines. The event is rain or shine, with rules in place to maintain a smooth, enjoyable experience for everyone.
For those looking to commemorate the festival, exclusive event T-shirts are available as an add-on during ticket purchase. Shirts can be picked up at the event, but are recommended to be pre-ordered as same-day sales are limited.
