DePaul Community Health Centers’ Infant Empowerment and Education Program, Crescent City Family Services, Seven Star Academy Inc. and TrainingGrounds are teaming up to present the second annual A Date with Dad event on Saturday, June 7 at Xavier University of Louisiana.
Held inside the university’s Grand Ballroom at 1 Drexel Drive in New Orleans, the event is free and open to all fathers and father figures. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for registration, with opening remarks and programming beginning at 10 a.m.
This year’s theme is Strong Fathers, Strong Families, Strong City. The event aims to empower fathers with resources and support while highlighting their essential role in creating thriving families and communities.
Attendees can expect a series of panel discussions on topics such as:
- Paternal mental health
- Financial literacy
- Career development
- Defining modern fatherhood
- The impact of education on parenting
Local vendors and organizations will offer services and information on-site, including Total Community Action, the New Orleans Family Justice Center, JP Morgan Chase Bank and Job1.
Fathers will receive a healthy lunch and have the chance to win prizes like barbershop vouchers, Audubon Zoo passes, gym memberships and more.
