Two children were killed in a crash in Schriever Thursday night.
Louisiana State Police said the crash happened around 4 p.m. on Highway 311 near Fellowship Lane.
A 12-year-old and 6-year-old were killed.
According to investigators, a woman driving a Toyota was traveling south on LA Highway 311, at the same time a Kenworth was traveling north.
For reasons still under investigation, the Toyota attempted to turn left into a driveway but entered the path of the approaching car and was struck on the right side.
The driver of the Kenworth was uninjured.
The four people in the Toyota were all transported to a local hospital.
The driver sustained minor injuries, another minor sustained moderate injuries and the 12 and 6-year-old passengers sustained severe injuries and later died at the hospital.
The crash is still under investigation and WDSU will provide updates as more information becomes available.
