The Kenner Police Department has arrested a man accused of being a drug trafficker who was in the country illegally.
According to police, Fidel Campos, 66, was arrested on May 5 during an undercover drug operation.
Campos lived in the 3100 block of Dawson Street and was arrested after an undercover officer arranged a drug deal for meth.
Campos had 25 grams of meth on him when he was arrested, according to Kenner police.
During the investigation, officers found out that Campos had a immigration warrant and had a criminal history. Campos has four DWI charges and had been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
He also has prior drug convictions, traffic violations and probation violations, according to police.
Campos is facing three counts of distribution of meth to an undercover agent, one count of possession with the intent to distribute meth and a detainer was placed on Campos by ICE.
According to Kenner police, they expect he will be deported.
