The New Orleans Fire Department is investigating a fire that happened in Gert Town.
The fire happened Tuesday around 1:46 p.m. at a vacant property in the 7900 block of Colipissa Street.
When fire crews arrived at the scene they encountered heavy fire conditions at a one-story vacant structure, with flames threatening nearby residential and other vacant structures.
Due to the rapid spread and potential structural collapse, a second alarm was rung for additional units.
According to NOFD, crews were able to deploy defensive and exposure protection to prevent the fire from spreading.
None of the exposures sustained major damage and no injuries were reported.
NOFD got the fire under control at 3:27 p.m.
No information has been provided on how the fire started.
