Jefferson Parish emergency officials responded to an airboat crash around 10:30 a.m. near mile marker 16 of the Intracoastal Waterway near Jean Lafitte Friday morning.
The U.S. Coast Guard says 11 people who were on the tour boat have been accounted for and none of them entered the water.
Two people sustained injuries and were transferred to a local hospital. One person has been pronounced dead.
The Coast Guard, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries are investigating the incident.
