Mark Hoppus of Blink-182 continues to battle the same cancer his mom beat.

Unfortunately musicians are humans too.

The legendary bassist/vocalist/all around good guy of Blink-182 is battling a blood related cancer. Hoppus was diagnosed with having stage 4 diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, which oddly enough is the same type of cancer his mom beat.

“I’ve been able to talk with her and bond with her quite a bit,” the Blink-182 singer told fans during a Q&A.

Being the creative dude that he is, he described the intense side effects from his first round of chemo as feeling like “I was a zombie that fell onto an electric fence and was just being shocked,” while feeling very weak and exhausted during round two, and was violently ill during the 3rd round.

After months of chemotherapy, Hoppus gave us an update via his Twitter:

Let’s give it up for Mark Hoppus for still maintaining his witty personality while going through such a tough time. Maybe go buy some merch from their website (https://blink182merch.com/) to show your support? Maybe roll the windows down during a hot summer day in Louisiana blaring your favorite Blink-182 song? Can we guess what that song is? Adam’s song, right!? SO DANG GOOD.
